Participated by University of Virginia, LMU

The International advanced course on injury biomechanics introduce the participants to intermediate and advanced topics in the field of injury biomechanics. The subjects covered include historical, contemporary, and emerging biomechanical science, injury risk functions, test devices, and regulations in car safety and sport. Unique aspects of the course involve hands-on participation in simple biomechanical tests, active and open discussion with lecturers, interactive crash case reviews, and a visit to crash test facilities. The course is targeted at graduate students, safety engineers, researchers, medical doctors, biomedical engineers, and those interested in the field of injury biomechanics.

The course is offered in collaboration with researchers and professors from the University of Virginia’s Center for Applied Biomechanics, Ludwig-Maximilians Universitat Munich and other international leaders in the field
